Information & RegistrationOn Saturday 6 September, the ABC Architectuur Centrum Haarlem is organising an excursion to two special places in the Noordoostpolder: Nagele and the Waterloopbos.
Based on the modernist principles of light, air and space, the village of Nagele was designed in the 1950s by architects such as Aldo van Eyck, Gerrit Rietveld and Mien Ruys. The Waterloopbos, a national monument, is a historic open-air laboratory in a beautiful polder forest. Hydrological research was once conducted here for the Delta Works and for the development of ports around the world. Now, walking routes lead past the models of the waterworks that lie in ruins in the forest.
Dutch-speaking guides will show you around Nagele and the Waterloopbos. You will also visit the Nagele Museum and a house with 1950s interior design.
Transport to and from the location is at your own expense. Carpooling will be arranged as much as possible to keep transport costs to a minimum. Further information about carpooling will follow after you have registered.
