In the coming period 2025-2028, we will build on the Framework Programme, with the emphasis on forming, developing and consolidating a network of archive creators, managers and users.
The network is active in facilitating and guiding digitisation, archiving, management and preservation, and acts as a guide and point of contact within heritage archiving. A close-knit network of institutions, researchers and designers that preserves, safeguards and makes available the memory of the profession contributes to the emancipation of the field and increases knowledge and understanding of the design of the Dutch landscape.

On November 26, we are organizing an archive workshop for garden and landscape architects at WUR, in collaboration with WUR and the Nieuwe Instituut. Do you have a wealth of archive material and want to gain a better understanding of what it consists of? Or are you looking for ways to structure your diverse archive material? In this archive workshop, you will examine your archive together with other garden and landscape architects, designers, and organizations, and take concrete steps to organize your archive.
The workshop starts with a presentation by Anneke Nauta (Bleeker Nauta), who will tell you how Ank and she got started with their own archives when they began winding down their firm and what they learned from that extensive work.
Guided by archive coaches, you will then learn how to organize and describe your archive, as well as how to determine what should and should not be included in your archive. You will tackle questions such as: Why do you want to do something with your archive? Who do you want to make it accessible to? And what do you want your target group to be able to do with the archive? This forms the basis for drawing up a personal action plan. With this newly acquired knowledge, you will be able to further develop, implement, and maintain your own archiving process.
When?
The workshop will take place on November 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Forum Building on Wageningen Campus. After the workshop, you can take a free guided tour of the exhibition Landscape Design with an Eye for Nature in the Special Collections reading room. This exhibition showcases the work of landscape architect Voorhoeve and explores connections between his work and a contemporary project, Forest of the Future.
