After a successful first edition, ARCHITECT@WORK Amsterdam is preparing for a promising return. The second edition will take place at a new and inspiring venue: De Kromhouthal, a characterful industrial site in the heart of Amsterdam.

In addition to the new setting, the thematic focus is a key element of the 2025 edition. ‘Thoughtful Tomorrow’ illustrates the importance of building mindfully today and tomorrow.

As a theme, ‘Thoughtful Tomorrow’ invites us to consider how the many innovations on display—combined with social, cultural, and ecological considerations—can help shape a future in which architecture is smarter, more resilient, and more responsive. It’s about the thoughtful integration of technology alongside a deep understanding of the needs of our planet, creating a future where the built environment truly improves quality of life.

Mindful building explores the future of architecture in many ways, recognizing a wide spectrum of emerging trends and advanced developments that are transforming the industry. Examples include the use of AI in architecture, flexible design, the implementation of new technologies and robotics in construction, smart materials, adaptive and non-adaptive reuse, and the relationship between people and the city.
