AIA x LOF: Exhibition ‘The Ecosystem Engineer’

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from 13 November to 2 December in the Upper Foyer of Theater De Vest, on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and during theatre performances. Please note that there are a number of exceptions when the exhibition is not open to the public. Check the website for current opening hours.

AanmeldenEcosystem engineers shape their own living environment. Beavers are typical ecosystem engineers, with their lodges that can change entire watercourses. Ants are ecosystem engineers with their underground tunnels, which bring air into the soil and digest plant debris. And we humans are also ecosystem engineers, landscape architects in particular.
Landscape architects adapt the landscape in which we live. We do this by thinking about the future, being aware of the past, appreciating the qualities of that landscape and working together with users, managers and other experts.
LOF has been designing – initially as Feddes/Olthof – for 20 years with great pleasure on projects throughout the country, ranging from the scale of the Netherlands to the tree species around the corner from your home.
This concise retrospective exhibition, created by LOF at the invitation of the AIA, bears witness to this and takes you on a journey through the work of LOF landscape architects.
