From 10 to 20 September 2026, Arnhem and the surrounding area will be focused on the future of our landscape. The Landscape Triennial 2026 will take you into a vibrant festival full of inspiration, imagination and depth, with water as the common theme!

The main stage for this edition is the city itself. From there, the programme flows into the city and region, with exhibitions, expeditions, debates, art projects, theatre performances and meetings on location.

The theme ‘Op Waterbasis’ (Water-Based), focuses on the urgent water challenges of today and tomorrow. How do we keep our feet dry during heavy downpours and high water levels? What does drought mean for nature and agriculture? And how do we design landscapes in which water is given space and also provides space?

Together with designers, doers, thinkers, residents and policymakers, we are looking for fresh perspectives on the water landscape of the future. For anyone who is curious about tomorrow – and looking forward to a special week in September 2026.
