Straatwerkchecker Is Live
In an earlier newsletter, we announced the straatwerkchecker. This tool is now live. Developed by vereniging Straatwerk Nederland and Bouwend Nederland, the checker is a practical aid for assessing where machine and mechanical paving can be applied within a design.
The straatwerkchecker helps designers take the ‘Arbowet machinaal en mechanisch straten’ into account at an early stage, so that projects are less likely to get stuck in the implementation phase. In previous consultations with Straatwerk Nederland and Bouwend Nederland, among others, NVTL emphasised that design freedom, circularity and climate-adaptive solutions remain important principles in the design of public spaces.
As a reminder: the parties involved are working on an update of CROW 324, and later this year NVTL and Straatwerk Nederland will hold an informative workshop for members on the impact of machine and mechanical paving on design.
