A strong Lekdijk at Salmsteke
LILA, Landezine International Landscape Award aims to select the most interesting and progressive practices in landscape architecture worldwide. The shortlist for 2025 has been announced!
The award was created in 2016 by Zaš Brezar (founder of Landezine) and Robert Schäfer (journalist, founder of Topos Magazine).
Congratulations to the teams that made it to the shortlist this year! The winner will be announced soon. From the Netherlands, 5 teams have been shortlisted:
DS landscape architects
Spaarndammerhart: The apartment complex in the heart of Spaarndammerbuurt is an ideal place for people, plants and animals, with its nesting stones and promising private gardens and communal outdoor spaces.
Strootman Landscape Architects
A strong Lek dyke at Salmsteke: An integral design, created together with WSP and local residents, offers added value to the strengthening of the Lek dyke and the floodplain development at Salmsteke.
Buro Harro
Buitenplaats (Estate) Koningsweg: A former German barracks site from WWII has been transformed into a cultural enclave, as a green stepping stone between Arnhem and the Veluwe, where people live, work and spend their holidays.
Veenenbos en Bosch Landscape Architects
Blue Waves: The iconic artwork Blue Waves in Arnhem is restored to its former glory, while new greenery is added to the surrounding area, with a promenade connecting the city centre with ArtEZ and Museum Arnhem.
