Who is your Nature Hero and would you like to see recognised? The winner will be announced during the Natuurhelden Kennisevent (Nature Hero Knowledge Event).
Do you know a brand-new entrepreneur, intiative or start-up that is making a difference for nature? NLadviseurs calls on everyone to nominate their Nature Hero of the Future no later than 15 August 2025. The winner will receive €5,000 and the prestigious Natuurhelden Award (Nature Heroes Award) during the Natuurhelden Kennisevent on 11 September 2025 at the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem. At this event, the winner will also be given the stage to share their story.
With the Natuurhelden Award, NLadviseurs puts the spotlight on new entrepreneurs, start-ups or initiatives that are working with courage and imagination on nature restoration, nature conservation or biodiversity in the Netherlands. “We are looking for innovators who not only make an impact on nature, but also inspire others to start moving,” says Guido Hamelink, co-founder of NLadviseurs.
The award has a special significance: with the prize money, NLadviseurs is passing on the microcredit that the agency itself received 20 years ago from the hands of Queen Máxima.
To be eligible for the award, a few conditions apply: the initiative must be no more than five years old (started in 2020 or later) and make a tangible contribution to nature or biodiversity. For example, through innovative methods, techniques or collaborations. The initiative must also be feasible and inspiring for others.
Nominations can be made until Friday 15 August 2025 via the NL Advisors website. The form on the site contains all the criteria.
