During the meeting Landscape is People’s Work, 25 years of the Council of Europe Landscape Convention on 27 October, attention will be drawn to the European Landscape Award, which is presented every two years. A nomination will be made on behalf of the Netherlands, and your help would be greatly appreciated. The RCE would therefore like to receive suggestions for projects. You can email these to RCE, provided they meet the following conditions:

Parties that can submit a project:

• Local or regional authorities and groups
• Local, regional and international NGOs
• Local and regional authorities working across borders

Types of projects eligible for submission:

• Projects for landscape protection, planning, design and management
• Government projects aimed at developing, implementing or strengthening landscapes to promote sustainable living environment management
• Transnational and collaborative projects

Criteria for assessing submitted projects:

• The project must be a sustainable area development project that has been completed and has been open to the public for at least three years.
• The project serves as an example.
• There is significant public involvement in the project.
• The project raises awareness of the importance of landscapes and good landscape management.
