Change of NVTL board members and open call

At the General Assembly of 12 June last, we announced board changes. Johan Snel, Leo Pols and Wiebke Klemm are stepping down, young-NVTL board member Stijn van de Ven is developing further as Board Member Professional Development and Lieneke van Campen (Landscape Architect and partner at bureau Karres and Brands) joins as Board Member Office Interests.
– Johan (Urban planner and Team Manager LAB Concepts at developer AM) has held the role of Board Member Academy, Interdisciplinary and Awards since 1 July 2019. He has played an important role as a reflector at the PEP, as jury chairman and moderator of the NVTL Awards 2024. He was also an enquirer and adviser to the NVTL board and office on interdisciplinary topics.
– Leo (retired senior researcher/designer at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency) has held the role of Board Member (Designing) Research & Policy Advisory City, Land and Water since 14 June 2024. He was the initiator from NVTL of the Community of Practice (CoP) “Design Research at Administrative Tables” for Platform Ontwerp NL. A session on the outcomes of this CoP will be organised on 3 July at the Day of Design Power 2025 in The Hague.
– Wiebke (Landscape architect and senior policy advisor at the Municipality of The Hague) has served as board member Research, Design & Policy Sustainable Living Environment since autumn 2023. She showed great commitment to issues such as climate adaptation, heat stress and biodiversity loss in the urban environment.
We are incredibly grateful to Johan, Leo and Wiebke for their dedication and what they have meant to both the board, the office and the members. We hope to see them often in the future!
Do you also aspire to a board position? We are looking to broaden the board. Consider, for example, a background in urban planning, project development, environmental law, (central) government or planning economy. Make your interest known.
