On Friday morning, 10 October, the kick-off meeting for the 13th edition of the Eo Wijers Competition will take place at the Papendal event centre in Arnhem. The theme of this year’s competition is “Invigorating Views: regional designs for health and happiness”. Partner NOC*NSF will be opening its doors for the occasion. The programme runs from 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., followed by lunch.

Vincent Luyendijk has been asked to give a keynote speech. Vincent Luyendijk works on healthy, active and climate-proof living environments. He shows how cities and regions can become places where people not only live and work, but also live healthy, happy and connected lives. During the kick-off, he will share inspiring examples of how design teams can increase social value per square metre.

Hugo de Jonge, King’s Commissioner in Zeeland, has agreed to chair the jury for the 13th edition of the Eo Wijers competition. Lea Bouwmeester, founder of Buro de Bouwmeesters and social entrepreneur, and landscape architect Yttje Feddes will join Hugo de Jonge on the jury.
