How do we design cities where water is no longer treated as a problem, but as the foundation of spatial planning?

Together with the Landschapstriënnale, Young NVTL invites you to a cycling excursion through Arnhem. Following this year’s theme ‘Op Waterbasis’, we follow the journey of water from the Veluwe ridge, through the city, to the floodplains of the River Rhine.

Along the way, we’ll visit three locations that each offer a different perspective on living and designing with water:

1. Sint Jansbeek — bringing water back into the heart of the city
2. Cleantech Park — exploring water as part of sustainable urban development
3. Meinerswijk — where the city meets the floodplains of the Rhine

At each stop, we’ll explore the design ideas and challenges behind the projects and discuss how landscape architecture can contribute to a water-resilient future

You can bring your own bike or rent an OV-fiets at Arnhem Central Station.

We’ll end the excursion with a borrel at Foodhall Arnhem. Want to join us for drinks? Please register for the borrel separately when signing up, so we know how many people to expect.
